Alex received a B.A. in Politics from Willamette University, with a minor in Asian studies, following his semester abroad in Japan. Prior to starting law school, Alex worked with underprivileged youth in a project organized by AmeriCorps VISTA. He also worked as a legal assistant at Schneider Caver Law Offices in Portland Oregon, working with clients seeking Social Security Disability coverage and gathering medical evidence for their hearings.

In law school, Alex took elective courses in Negotiations, Consumer Protection Law, and Native American Law. Additionally, Alex completed a legal internship with the Oregon State Legislature’s Legal Counsel Department for the Judiciary Committee, and worked at the Willamette University Human Rights Clinic by helping an indigent client apply for asylum.

Alex joined the firm as an associate in 2015. Since then, Alex has volunteered to assist manage the caseload of the Whatcom County Public Defenders’ Office and with the local legal aid organization, Law Advocates.

Alex enjoys improvisational acting and comedy, karaoke, martial arts, collaborative story writing, CrossFit, mindfulness meditation and card and board games.
